<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an olivine-type lithium transition metal oxide in which a content of a residual material, which is possibly a cause of short circuit when incorporating as a cathode active material in a cell, is reduced, and a method of producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The olivine-type lithium transition metal oxide has a composition of Li<SB POS="POST">x</SB>(Fe<SB POS="POST">1-y</SB>M1<SB POS="POST">y</SB>)<SB POS="POST">1-z</SB>M2<SB POS="POST">z</SB>(PO<SB POS="POST">4</SB>)<SB POS="POST">A</SB>where x, y, z, and A satisfy the formulae: 0.9<x<1.3; 0≤y<1; 0≤z<0.3; 1.005≤A≤1.3 respectively, M1 is at least one metal element selected from the group consisting of Mn, Co, and Ni, and M2 is at least one metal element selected from the group consisting of Mo, Mg, Zr, Ti, Al, Ce, and Cr. A molar ratio of phosphoric acid ions (PO<SB POS="POST">4</SB>) to the total amount of Fe, M1, and M2 is not less than 1.005 and not greater than 1.3 in the composition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
