Disclosed are a mobile terminal and an adaptive method for increasing a download speed thereof. The mobile terminal comprises: a network detection module, a speed detection module, and a link switching judgment unit; the network detection module is used for detecting each wireless network signal around a mobile terminal; the speed detection module is used for detecting a network speed of each wireless network; the link switching judgment unit is used for switching a link, of the mobile terminal, performing a wireless data service onto an optimal link according to the detected network speed of each wireless network. The technical solution of the present invention dispenses with additional protocol development on a mobile device to save development time, is provided with good generality and standardization, and may be widely applied to a mobile device with a general access function, such as a mobile phone and a data network interface card.
