<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a reflective display panel with improved quality of white display and black display. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises: a liquid crystal display panel 10 that includes two substrates 11 and 12 whose facing surfaces are provided with transparent electrodes 13 and 14 and that includes a liquid crystal material filled between the substrates; driving circuits 41 and 42 that apply a voltage to the liquid crystal material between the transparent electrodes by applying a voltage to the transparent electrodes; a control circuit 61 that controls the driving circuits in accordance with a displayed image; and a temperature sensor 63 that detects temperature of the liquid crystal display panel. The control circuit executes heating processing for controlling the driving circuits and applying an AC signal between the facing transparent electrodes when the detected temperature is equal to or less than predetermined temperature, and after the detected temperature rises to the predetermined temperature or more, it controls the driving circuits in accordance with the displayed image and executes display writing processing for putting the liquid crystal material into a state according to the displayed image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
