<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing low molecular weight siloxane compounds having a specific functional group, easily and in high yield. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a compound which is a siloxane compound with a siloxy part of an alkoxysilane compound quantitatively inserted therein by reacting a siloxane compound having a specific functional group with an alkoxysilane compound having a specific functional group in an acid catalyst in the presence of water.
