<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing method of a stator can in place of a backup sleeve press-fitted in the stator can in a canned motor pump. <P>SOLUTION: A stator 26 of a motor is housed in a stator chamber 52 which is a space between a cylindrical stator can 38 for housing a rotor 24 of the motor and a cylindrical stator band 44 which is disposed coaxially with the stator can 38. The stator chamber 52 are closed by end bells 46, 48 at cylindrical ends of the stator can 38 and the stator band 44. The stator chamber 52 is filled with a filler 66.
