<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel for cold forging and induction hardening, which has low deformation resistance during cold forging and is capable of obtaining high bending fatigue strength by executing induction hardening after cold forging. <P>SOLUTION: The steel for cold forging and induction hardening has a chemical composition which contains 0.005% or more and less than 0.10% of C, 0.30% or less of Si, 0.20-1.20% of Mn, 0.040% or less of P, 0.050% or less of S, 0.050% or less of Al, 0.0002-0.0050% of B, 0.010-0.080% of Ti, and 0.0080% or less of N, with the balance composed of Fe and impurities, and satisfies a relation: [Ti-3.4N>0]. As needed, the steel may contain, instead of a part of Fe, one or more of 0.20% or less of Cu, 0.20% or less of Ni, 0.20% or less of Cr, 0.20% or less of Mo and 0.20% or less of V. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
