<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery capable of achieving a high battery capacity while inhibiting battery swelling. <P>SOLUTION: The secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolytic solution. The negative electrode contains a carbon material as a negative electrode active material. The electrolytic solution contains an electrolyte salt; ethylene carbonate; an alkylated cyclic carbonate; an aromatic compound containing an aromatic ring, and a carbon-nitrogen multiple bond or a carbon-oxygen multiple bond; and at least one of a halogenated cyclic carbonate and an unsaturated cyclic carbonate. The percentage of the aromatic compound in the electrolytic solution is in the range of 0.1 to 1 wt.%, and the percentage of the alkylated cyclic carbonate in the electrolytic solution is equal to or higher than the percentage of the ethylene carbonate by weight. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
