<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrocarbon-based polymer electrolyte excellent in processability and having proton conductivity, particularly excellent proton conductivity under conditions with little moisture, and to provide a membrane of the polymer electrolyte. <P>SOLUTION: The polymer electrolyte has, in a main chain, a structure represented by formula (1) wherein Ar represents a benzene ring, naphthalene ring, or one in which carbon forming those rings may be substituted by a hetero atom, X represents a proton or a cation, a and b are each an integer of 0-4, provided that the total of several a and b is ≥1, m represents an integer of ≥1, and n represents an integer of ≥0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
