The magnetic damper (1a) has two magnet carriers (2) with magnet poles (N,S). The magnet carriers are rotated opposite to each other. One of the magnet carriers is coupled with the crankshaft in rotary locked manner. A maximum or minimum of vibration order is assigned to an equal or opposite pole arrangement of the magnet poles of the two magnet carriers. The magnetic damper is arranged coaxially to the crankshaft.
