The tool holder (1) has a collision avoidance mechanism comprising a holder main structure (5) that is displaceably arranged in a housing (2) in axial direction. The holder main structure is connected to housing through leaf springs (10,11). An rear cover (3) is provided at rear of housing and is provided with holes (4). A side wall of the housing is provided with opening so as to access the interior of housing. A spindle (6) is inserted into the holder main structure and is secured by an union nut (7). An independent claim is included for method for manufacturing tool holder.
