<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable on which a cut being a start point of cutting-out for cutting of an outer wrap tape can be made in a such way that a worker can easily find the cut, without using a tool like a blade at a work site and from which the outer wrap tape can be safely, simply, and easily peeled away. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical fiber 11, a plurality of coated optical fibers 13 are covered with an outer wrap tape 15, and the outside of the outer wrap tape is covered with a sheath 16, and front and rear surfaces of the outer wrap tape 15 are different in color, and cuts 17 piercing the outer wrap tape 15 from its one surface to the other, which are start points of cutting-off for intermediately cutting the outer wrap tape 15 in a breadthwise direction are made at a side edge of the outer wrap tape 15. Projecting pieces 18 are formed by the cuts 17, and preferably, parts of the cuts 17 are bent toward the sheath 16.
