<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chuck which facilitates an arrangement of a tire carcass to the chuck and makes it easy to remove a green tire from the chuck. <P>SOLUTION: A chuck system 10, which holds a carcass having an inner circumferential surface and a tapered end, includes a plurality of chucks 20 and 22. Each chuck has an outer surface in or roughly in the circumferential direction and a plurality of friction reducing members 36, which are positioned on this outer surface, and the friction reducing members are arranged to engage with the inner circumference of a toroidal structure such as a tire, etc. The method of processing the tire carcass has a step of positioning the tire carcass in a chuck with a fixed diameter which has a friction reducing member on its outer surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
