<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video content viewing system which permits video content about various characters to be output by user operation on an Internet communication capable portable terminal equipped with a touch panel type display, thereby producing audiovisual effects which would allow the user to enjoy an illusion as if they were communicating with a specific character. <P>SOLUTION: The video content viewing system is composed of a data set consisting of video content data of characters and an application program. The video content data included in the data set each have output condition information prepared in advance corresponding to a specific time zone in one day, as well as to a specific input method and an input position. At startup, the video content data having the output condition information corresponding to a time zone to which the startup time of day belongs is output based on the current time of day information.
