This sound playback device comprises an ultra-directional speaker. Another sound playback device juxtaposed with this sound playback device has another ultra-directional speaker. These ultra-directional speakers each have an emitting surface for emitting sound waves along a sound axis, the emitting surface being positioned on the sound axis; the sound pressures of the respective sound waves thereof reach a maximum at a maximum sound pressure position. The ultra-directional speakers are disposed such that there is no overlap between a portion of an ultra-directional speaker from the emitting surface on the sound axis to the maximum sound pressure position and a portion of the other ultra-directional speaker from the emitting surface on the other sound axis to the other maximum sound pressure position.
