The invention relates to a conveyance device and a conveyance method, especially a conveyance device. The posture of objects to be conveyed can be changed by the conveyance device. Meanwhile, the conveyance device is high in conveying capacity. In the conveyance device, the holding work of a holding portion (25) of a posture changing mechanism (24), the moving work of a moving mechanism (27) and the rotation work of a rotation mechanism are controlled by a control mechanism. Conveyed objects (W) are maintained to be at a holding position (P3) in a non-contact state by the holding portion (25). The holding portion (25) is moved by the moving mechanism (27) and then the conveyed objects (W) maintained at the holding position (P3) in a non-contact state by the holding portion (25) are conveyed from the holding position (P3) to a holding-releasing position (P4) on the downstream thereof. During the movement process, the holding portion (25) is moved by the moving mechanism (27) while the holding portion (25) is rotated by the rotation mechanism. Therefore, the conveying posture of the conveyed objects (W) is rotated by a predetermined angle around a longitudinal axis and the maintaining of the conveyed objects (W) is released at the holding-releasing position (P4). |
