Disclosed is an electric power supply device which can impede the leakage of high frequency power line communication signals outside a residence, even when a charge command device in the residence carries out power line communication with a vehicle via a vehicle charging device. A vehicle charge device (6), which acts as an electric power supply device, is provided with: a low pass filter (63) which is disposed between a residential electric power line (3a) and a vehicle electric power line (7), and which attenuates high frequency power line communication signals; a power line communication unit (60) which is connected in parallel to the low pass filter (63), and which converts the high frequency power line communication signals from the charge command device which are superimposed on the residential power line (3a) to lower frequency signals, and then communicates with the vehicle via the vehicle electric power line (7) using the converted low frequency signals; and a control unit (65) which controls the connection/disconnection of a connection unit (64) on the basis of a command signal from the charge command device, said signal being demodulated by the power line communication unit (60). |
