<p>PURPOSE: A high strength and high toughness wire rod with excellent surface property and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent the production of surface oxide on a wire rod by employing a small amount of Sb in a material for the wire rod. CONSTITUTION: A high strength and high toughness wire rod with excellent surface property comprises 0.005-0.02weight% of Sb, 0.25-0.45weight% of C, 0.1-0.2weight% of Si, and 0.1-0.7weight% of Mn. The wire rod also contains Sb oxide, which includes Sb2O5, and has a microstructure, which includes 70 area% or greater of ferrite and the rest pearlite.</p> |
