METHOD FOR PREVENTING TUNING OF ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT, APPARATUS APPLIED TO THE SAME

PURPOSE: A method for preventing the tuning of an electronic control unit and a device thereof are provided to prevent the malfunction of a vehicle by autonomously sensing the tuning. CONSTITUTION: A first default setting unit designates map address information related to engine tuning as a part of a program code in order to store the same in a program area of a memory(11). A second default setting unit calculates a default checksum based on the map address information in order to store the same in a data area of the memory. A calculation unit calculates a tuning diagnostic checksum at the beginning of operation by using the map address information loaded from the program area of the memory. A result output unit outputs a result related to the engine tuning by comparing the tuning diagnostic checksum with the default checksum.
