The method involves measuring platelet activity in a sample of a patient at a time when the patient is not taking clopidogrel. The measured platelet activity is compared with a statistically determined decision limit, where an increased platelet function, which is beyond the decision limit, indicates an increased risk of clopidogrel resistance of the patient. The sample is contacted with a platelet activator, particularly with a platelet activator selected from the group, of adenosine diphosphate, collagen, epinephrine, arachidonic acid, ristocetin, and thrombin. |
