PURPOSE: A method and system for measuring oxygen saturation are provided to calculate a component ratio of RED(red light) and IR(infrared light) using frequency analysis results by performing FFT(Fast Fourier transform). CONSTITUTION: IR and RED light are irradiated on a specific site of a body(S10). The IR and RED light penetrating the specific site of the body are transformed to an electric signal(S20). Each of IR and RED signals is processed by FFT(S100). A fundamental frequency component of a PPG(photoplethysmographic) signal except for a movement noise frequency component and a corresponding harmonic component are detected from FFT results(S200). A component ratio of the IR and the RED is calculated from the detected fundamental frequency component and the corresponding harmonic component(S300).
