A smoking article 100 comprises one or more rod articles 110, 111 and an inner layer 113 extending around the rod articles. An outer layer 125 extends around the inner layer and the inner and outer layers are formed by a composite sheet of material 213, 225 wrapped around the rod articles. At least a part of the outer layer is configured to be movable relative to the inner layer. Preferably the inner layer 113 and the outer layer 125 each include a separation line 136,138. An indexing mechanism may be attached to an inner surface of the inner layer. Also disclosed is a blank for wrapping around one or more rod articles to form the smoking article and a method of manufacturing the smoking article. Advantageously the relative movement between the inner and outer layers controls a property of the smoking article, such as an amount of ventilation or a limit on the amount of rotation or movement between the inner and outer layers. |
