<p>PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for selecting a network in M2M(Machine to Machine) communication are provided to minimize the burden of an apparatus and a gateway by processing data and communication in an M2M core function. CONSTITUTION: An M2M entity registers an M2M application(S410). The M2M entity registers a service class for the register M2M application(S420). The M2M entity transmits supportable access network information, location information, or a service class for the M2M application to an M2M core(S430). The M2M entity connects to an access network according to the setup of the M2M core(S440).
