A wall tie 26 comprises a wall-engaging portion 27 and a locking portion 28. The wall-engaging portion 27 is fixable to a wall such that the locking portion 28 projects from the wall. The locking portion 28 has formed therein one or more recesses 31, 32 that are inclined relative to the locking portion 28. This permits selectively friction-locking engagement of the or each recess with a channel formed in a further member. The wall engaging portion may be in the form of a laminar, rectangular tongue, and may be designed to key into the mortar between courses of bricks. The recess or neck 31 32 may be in the form of a groove that extends at an angle relative to the major surfaces of the tongue and be slightly wider than the thickness of the walls of the channel into which it locks. It is preferably for securing a door frame to a wall. |
