FIELD: physics, communications. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to broadcast receivers and more specifically to a broadcast receiver able to receive an IP broadcast. The result is achieved due to that the broadcast receiver includes a storage means (29) for storing a file with network configuration information and channel information and a control means (25) for controlling units of the broadcast receiver. When the broadcast receiver is activated, the control means is connected to a network, receives a file with network configuration information and determines whether the name of the network described in the received file with network configuration differs from the name of the network described in the file with network configuration information stored in the storage means. If the network names are different, the broadcast receiver obtains channel information based on part of the information described in the file with network configuration information, and rewrites the file with network configuration information and channel information stored in the storage means using the new received file with network configuration information and channel information. ^ EFFECT: providing a broadcast receiver capable of receiving the right channel information at any time, even if the network with which the receiver is connected changes to another. ^ 7 cl, 6 dwg |
