PURPOSE: A sound analysis apparatus and method thereof are provided to discriminate kinds of effect sounds using characteristic information and wave pattern data. CONSTITUTION: A comparison candidate group selection unit(104) selects a comparison candidate group about sound data from plural frequency characteristic information. A frequency conversion unit(105) changes a sound effect signal or sound data into a frequency domain. A frequency characteristic detection unit(106) detects the frequency characteristic information from the changed sound effect signal or the sound data. A sound effect determination unit(107) outputs sound effect determination information corresponding to the frequency characteristic information. |
