FIELD: metallurgy. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises fitting cylindrical mill shank inside collet and locking it therein. Before final locking of the mill, it is prepositioned relative to collet by making marks and turning it, at least, one time relative to lengthwise axis with subsequent pre-locking in collet and measuring mill teeth radial play. Final locking is performed to marks corresponding to minimum radial play of mill teeth. ^ EFFECT: optimum positioning, decreased radial play. ^ 2 dwg
