An integral hammer head has opposed upper and lower ends, a striking head to pound nails, opposed inwardly curved claws to extract nails, a fulcrum formed in the upper end between the striking head and the claws, and innermost and outermost nail head supports formed between the claws and the hammer head to be brought into position successively beneath a head of a nail positioned between the claws. A nail-receiving groove is formed in the rearward end of the hammer head, is located forwardly of the innermost nail head supports, extends along the hammer head from the lower end to the upper end and into and through the fulcrum, and is to receive a length of a body of a nail between a tip and a head of the nail brought into position atop the innermost nail head supports in response to pivoting of the hammer head on the fulcrum.
