PURPOSE: A dam ridge width measurement device and a measuring method thereof are provided to accurately measure dam ridge width and to easily performing quantitive and objective measurement. CONSTITUTION: A dam ridge width measurement device comprises a horizontal pole(10), a central fixing unit(30), a provisional fixing unit(40), and an inclined pole(20). The horizontal pole measures a dam ridge width and comprises a plurality of unit horizontal poles(10). Scales(13) are formed in the outer circumference of the horizontal pole. The central fixing unit supports one end portion of the horizontal pole and is composed of a fixing unit(31) and clamp unit(32). The provisional fixing unit supports the other end portion of the horizontal pole. The provisional fixing unit adjusts the height of the other end portion of the horizontal pole and is composed of a fixing unit(41), a clamp unit(42), and a position adjusting groove(43). An upper part of the inclined pole is connected to the other end portion of the horizontal pole and the other end portion of the inclined pole is supported in an inclined surface of a dam ridge.
