PURPOSE: A method and system for classifying a vehicle model through a magnetic characteristic analysis of a vehicle are provided to effectively classify twelve kinds of vehicle models by analyzing unique magnetic characteristics indicating each vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A magnetic signal acquisition unit(210) acquires a magnetic signal from a detected magnetic variation. A signal conversion unit(220) converts the magnetic signal waveform into a specific pattern. An encoding unit(230) encodes the magnetic signal. A database(240) is composed of a code DB(241) and a vehicle model DB(243). A vehicle name determination unit(250) determines a vehicle name by comparing the code of the magnetic signal and magnetic characteristic code information registered in the code DB. A vehicle model determination unit(260) determines the vehicle model by comparing the determined vehicle name and registration information in the vehicle model DB.
