<p>PURPOSE: A touch input recognizing device and a method thereof are provided to use a principle that the more pressure increases, the more a contact area increases, thereby sensing a change of touch pressure. CONSTITUTION: A touch input detecting unit(110) detects touch input by contact generated by a touch panel. An area calculating unit(120) calculates a contact area about the touch input. A pressure computing unit(130) computes a pressure size about the touch input based on the contact area. A command signal generating unit(140) detects the touch inputs and generates a command signal according to a pressure size change and a location change about the touch inputs.
