Rotatable packaging machine, and method for filling open bags, having a plurality of circumferentially distributed, co-rotating filling units, each having a filling nozzle with a filling opening, onto which the open bags can be fitted by an upward movement directed relative to the filling nozzle. A handling unit configured as receiving means is provided for receiving the filled open bags from the filling units and has a gripping arm with a gripping unit provided thereon. The gripping arm is arranged in a rotatable manner on the receiving means. The gripping unit is arranged in a pivotable manner on the gripping arm in order to execute a pivoting movement relative to the gripping arm, this pivoting movement accompanying the gripping-arm rotation.
