PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component having high accuracy and capable of manufacturing inexpensively.

SOLUTION: The optical component is provided with a light guide plate 13, and an optical coupling member for coupling light to the light guide plate 13. The optical coupling member 30 includes a top-part flat surface with which the light guide plate 13 is jointed. The optical coupling member 30 is so structured that a plurality of optical coupling member elements 30' are arrayed to be in contact with each other. Each of the optical coupling member elements 30' is provided with an elevation part 30'a raised in an array direction on at least one side surface in the array direction.
