<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader in an MFP in which masking of image data is ensured when reading a document in which an output permission region and an output prohibition region are mixed. <P>SOLUTION: A document is read by a scanner 1, converted to image data and stored in a memory 2. A monitor controller 4, when an enter key 6a of a mouse 6 is pressed at two points, generates a mask region 31 having the two points as a diagonal line and displays it on a monitor 5, and the coordinates thereof are stored in a memory 3. A character location detection section 11 outputs to a mask correction part 12 coordinates of circumscription rectangles of all characters as character location information. A mask correction part 12 inputs the coordinates of the mask region 31, further inputs character location information from the character location detection section 11, and corrects coordinates of the mask region 31 on the basis of the character location information. Thereby, even when the mask region 31 is displaced from the character positions, it is possible to ensure masking of a predetermined regions with the correction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
