The purpose of the present invention is primarily to facilitate the replacement of a transmission mechanism, and another purpose is to make the meshing of transmission mechanism gears highly precise. A wind power generation device comprises the following: a windmill shaft; a windmill part having a plurality of blades; a first support plate for supporting a forward part of the windmill shaft; a second support plate for supporting a rear part of the windmill shaft; a power generator affixed to the second support plate either above or below the windmill shaft and provided with a power generator shaft; a transmission mechanism for transmitting dynamic force from the windmill shaft to the power generator; and a nacelle for accommodating the power generator, the second support plate, and the transmission mechanism. The transmission mechanism comprises the following: a first gear mounted onto the windmill shaft on a rear side of the second support plate; and a second gear that has a smaller diameter than that of the first gear, meshes with the first gear, and is mounted on the rear side of the second support plate to the power generator shaft which penetrates through the second support plate.
