A plurality of recesses (27) are disposed in a suitable shape in suitable positions on the inside surface of the bottom of an inner pot body (25) constituting a pot for a rice cooker, whereby boiling starts in the recesses when heat is applied while cooking rice, and the ability to cook rice is improved. Projections (28) on the inner pot body (25) and connecting parts (29) on an inner-pot magnetic plate (26) are aligned and attached under pressure, and the inner pot magnetic plate (26) is reliably secured to the inner pot body (25) to constitute the inner pot (22), whereby the inner pot (22) can be made lightweight, easy to handle, exceptionally high in processability, and inexpensive to manufacture.
