<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidery machine capable of securely determining which of the needle thread and the bobbin thread breaks when thread breakage occurs in order to reduce loads of an operator. <P>SOLUTION: An embroidery machine comprises a jump mechanism 27 which implements jump control of a needle 25 when a thread breakage sensor 16 detects the occurrence of thread breakage and decelerates the rotation of a main axis 9. When the main axis 9 rotates to a reference position, a thread feed control begins and the jump control is cancelled. Holding this state, a needle thread guarding mechanism 35 operates so as to wind an edge side of an embroidery thread S around a needle thread guarding piece 39. In a case of a bobbin thread breakage, the thread breakage sensor 16 detects the feed of the embroidery thread S that is caused by the driving of a balance 23. In a case of a needle thread breakage, it is detected by the thread breakage sensor 16 since the feed of the embroidery thread S using the needle thread guarding mechanism 35 does not occur and therefore a thread wheel 18 of the thread breakage sensor 16 does not rotate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
