Provided are a method and apparatus for configuring a newly added backhaul subframe to solve the problem of configuring the newly added backhaul subframe, comprising: configure a newly added subframe by a network side in a signaling configuration mode or a fixed configuration mode. The newly added backhaul subframe has a backhaul subframe structure determined in accordance with the configuration, and a receiving side receives the backhaul subframe according to the configuration. The present invention can be well applied to the link from an eNode-B to a relay node, and can improve the flexibility of a backhaul link, thus not only ensuring backward compatibility (compatible with an LTE system), but also solving the problem of configuring newly added subframes on a relay link.
