OPTICAL FIBER TRANSMISSION SYSTEM AND OPTICAL RECEIVER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of materializing long-distance transmission in the optical fiber transmission using the optical MIMO technology.

SOLUTION: Delay time of the delay element in an FIR filter device 6 is not simply adjusted to an integer time of T or an integer time of T/2, but adjusted to an integer time of D or an integer time of T closest to the integer time of D. D is the group delay difference of an optical signal received by each optical receiver 2, and T is one symbol time of an optical signal received by each optical transmitter 1. Since only the taps contributive to compensation of group delay difference are left, the number of taps in the FIR filter device 6 is reduced and the computation time is shortened, and long-distance transmission is materialized in the optical fiber transmission using the optical MIMO technology.
