<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical image display apparatus used for surgical operations and providing a polarization property and a halation reduction effect sufficient for carrying out an endoscope surgical operation. <P>SOLUTION: A surgical image display apparatus includes: an external camera; image projecting means that receives an image signal from the external camera to project an image; image display means that has a hemisphere dome image projection plane on which the image projected by the image projecting means is displayed; and image signal processing means that receives the image taken by the external camera and performs distortion correction processing on the image signal input to the image projecting means so that the image taken by the external camera is displayed with no distortion on the image display means.
