<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly switch display of a two-dimensional video to display of a three-dimensional video. <P>SOLUTION: Compression-coded video data is decoded by a first decoder, to create a first image frame, and an execution instruction command for switching three-dimensional image creation processing from non-execution to execution is issued. When the execution instruction is issued, decoding from a picture that can independently create an image frame regardless of dependence on the other image frame of the video data is instructed to the second decoder. The video data is decoded by a second decoder, to create a second image frame corresponding to the first image frame. A depth map is created by depth map creation means by estimating plural depth values corresponding to plural pixels contained in the second image frame.
