<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Ca-containing α-sialon phosphor having a fluorescence peak wavelength of 602-605 nm and showing higher external quantum efficiency than conventional phosphors. <P>SOLUTION: The Ca-containing α-sialon phosphor is represented by the general formula: Ca<SB POS="POST">x</SB>Eu<SB POS="POST">y</SB>Si<SB POS="POST">12-(m+n)</SB>Al<SB POS="POST">(m+n)</SB>O<SB POS="POST">n</SB>N<SB POS="POST">16-n</SB>(wherein 1.37≤x≤2.60, 0.16≤y≤0.20, 3.60≤m≤5.50, 0≤n≤0.30, and m=2x+3y), and is obtained as follows: a Ca-containing α-sialon precursor is preobtained by firing a mixture of a silicon nitride powder, a europium source and a calcium source in an inert gas atmosphere, the Ca-containing α-sialon precursor is mixed with an aluminum source and fired again in an inert gas atmosphere to obtain a Ca-containing α-sialon fired product, and this fired product is further heat treated in an inert atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
