<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of thoroughly removing scales formed on the surface of a titanium plate by acid-pickling without using a salt bath. <P>SOLUTION: The method of removing scales on the titanium plate includes an acid-pickling step for removing scales formed by heating on the surface of a titanium plate. The acid-pickling step includes using a mixed liquid containing 5 to 12 wt.% of hydrochloric acid and 2 to 5 wt.% of hydrofluoric acid, and immersing the annealed titanium plate in an acid bath in which the temperature of the mixed liquid is kept in a range of 25 to 80°C. The mixed liquid may contain 12 wt.% or less of sulfuric acid. A preferable temperature of the mixed liquid is 60°C or lower, and a preferable amount of weight loss on the surface of the titanium plate immersed in the acid bath is 100 g/m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
