<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a discharge amount of a by-product such as formic acid for a long period of time without reducing system efficiency of a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: In a separator 1 in which a structure of the fuel cell that includes an anode catalyst layer, a cathode catalyst layer and an electrolyte membrane sandwiched between the layers is sandwiched, the separator 1 has a separator substrate 113 and a passage part 3 that is formed on a surface of the separator substrate 113 and circulates a reaction gas therein, and also has a reaction by-product decomposition layer 11 provided at least one of a side of a face opposing to the anode catalyst layer and a side of a face opposing to the cathode catalyst layer, which contains a catalyst and decomposes the by-product produced due to a fuel cell reaction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
