<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel tank for an automobile, in which a heat insulating member is easily formed, with simple equipment. <P>SOLUTION: In the fuel tank 10 for an automobile, which is attached to an automobile, at least the bottom section 13 of the fuel tank 10 is covered with a cover member 21. A gap is formed between the cover member 21 and the fuel tank 10, and synthetic resin foaming microspheres 27 is filled in the gap.
