<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide recording and reproducing device which is more user-friendly. <P>SOLUTION: When recording a frame image signal, which is generated sequentially by imaging, as one piece of moving image data in a memory and reproducing the moving image data, if receiving an assignment instruction of identification information while recording the moving image data, the identification information is assigned to a frame image signal satisfying a prescribed condition among plural frame image signal forming the moving image data.
