<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of an LED drive circuit to reduce costs. <P>SOLUTION: A drive circuit for supplying electricity to a light-emitting diode (LED) light source 206 includes a converter circuit 202, an energy storage element 220, and a switching element 222. The converter circuit 202 supplies a first output voltage for supplying electricity to the LED light source 206 to a first power supply line and a second output voltage lower than the first output voltage to a second power supply line. The energy storage element 220 is charged and discharged in order to control a current flowing in the LED light source 206. The switching element 222 operates in a first mode in which the energy storage element 220 is charged, or a second mode in which the energy storage element 220 is discharged. The converter circuit 202 maintains an operating voltage applied on both edges of the switching element 222 lower than the first output voltage during both the first mode and the second mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
