PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate parallax images for three-dimensionally displaying characters in such a manner that the neighboring characters are properly displayed without overlapping each other.

SOLUTION: A control unit 2 acquires character shape object display information from a content storage unit 31. A display position setting processing unit 21 calculates average positions for respective right and left parallax images of two neighboring characters. Also, when the both average positions overlap each other, a display position setting processing unit 21 adjusts display positions of the both parallax images so that the both average positions do not overlap each other, and saves the adjusted display positions in an information holding unit 24. A parallax image generation unit 7 generates the parallax images on the basis of the display positions of the parallax images saved in the information holding unit 24.
