<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus capable of recording a high-quality image at high speed, and an inkjet recording method. <P>SOLUTION: The inkjet recording apparatus 1 records an image by ejecting pigment ink from an ink jet head 2 to a recording surface of a recording medium P. The inkjet recording apparatus includes a recording medium transporting means 4 transporting the recording medium P to the inkjet head 2, and a recording medium discharging means 5 discharging the recording medium P on which the image has been recorded by the inkjet head 2. The recording medium discharging means 5 includes an discharging roller 51 arranged at an opposite side with respect to the recording surface of the recording medium P, and a cylindrical driven roller 52 arranged to be opposed to the discharging roller on the recording surface side of the recording medium. The driven roller 52 has electric resistivity smaller than 10<SP POS="POST">8</SP>Ωcm, and is grounded.
