METHOD FOR OPERATING FLASH SMELTING FURNACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the ejection of a concentrate from a furnace top and the generation of deposits resulting from the deposition and subsequent sintering of the concentrate on the inner wall of a furnace top part.

SOLUTION: In a method for operating a flash smelting furnace 1 having at least a reaction tower 2 provided with a concentrate burner 10 which is provided at the furnace top and feeds a smelting raw material 24 together with a fuel and a reactant gas 11 and a blow nozzle 12 which is attached to the sidewall and used for blowing a reactant gas 11', the ratio of the amount of the reactant gas 11 blown from the concentrate burner 10 to the amount of the reactant gas 11' blown from the blow nozzle 12 is set to 2:1.
