<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve low-temperature properties of fuel oils from petroleum sources, those from vegetable or animal sources, and mixtures of these fuel oils. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a sulfur-free polymer which comprises structural units of formula (1) and structural units of formula (II): wherein R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>represents 8-22C alkyl, preferably 12-16C alkyl; R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>is H or methyl; R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>represents -R<SP POS="POST">5</SP>(OR<SP POS="POST">6</SP>)<SB POS="POST">n</SB>OR<SP POS="POST">7</SP>, wherein R<SP POS="POST">5</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">6</SP>may be the same or different and independently represent linear or branched 1-8C alkylene, n is an integer of 1-20, and R<SP POS="POST">7</SP>represents 1-4C alkyl; and R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>is H or methyl, and wherein the molar ratio of structural units (1): structural units (II) in the polymer is in the range from 100:1 to 2:1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
